The introduction of mobile Spotify friend activity has been a major feature since August 25th, 2021. A newly introduced widget now enables real-time updates, with the frequency depending on whether the app is open or running in the background. If the app is closed, updates occur approximately every 15 minutes, whereas real-time updates are observed when the app is actively in use. Interestingly, at times, the widget and app updates are swifter than those found within the Spotify platform itself.
